A fundraiser for the Caselberg/Brasch Studio build 2nd March 2016. A second wonderful Arts event was held at the Amisfield Winery, Lake Hayes on 2 March – a Nadene Milne initiative and a fundraiser for the Caselberg Trust, it proved a really successful and inspiring event.
Gretchen Albrecht very generously donated 3 works for auction on the night and gave an excellent speech, in part, on the importance of residencies to artists. Michael Harlow, poet and inaugural Caselberg resident during his Burns Residency, read some of his work, and in turn spoke of the reasons why we as a society and as individuals support the arts – and the importance of doing so.
The event was supported again by the wonderful Amisfield Winery and in true style the staff looked after us very generously, delighting us with beautiful culinary platters and the incomparable Amisfield wine.
Finally, the Caselberg Trust Patron, Dame Gillian Whitehead, spoke of the ongoing work of the Caselberg Trust and also of her personal experience and belief in the life-changing value of Artists’ Residencies.
To Nadene Milne, whose initiative this was and who very admirably organised and hosted the event, we thank you. We thank you for your ongoing support of the Trust and your belief in us. We thank Gretchen Albrecht for your wonderful generosity in donating 3 inspiring works. We thank Michael Harlow and Gillian Whitehead – ambassadors of the Trust par excellence. We thank everyone who came and to those supporters who purchased Gretchen’s wonderful work…..and we thank Amisfield Winery for their stunning cuisine, wine and a willingness to be part of this superb arts initiative.
