2010 Retreat down the Bay

We launched a Residency programme aimed to give local artists and writers a chance to breath in the quiet seclusion that the cottage and its harbour views offer. These are short-term residencies of 3-6 days and are by invitation.

Our inaugural artist was John Z Robinson, Dunedin jeweler, printmaker and painter. John worked on his own art and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet – and that feeling of retreat that the house offers.

Elizabeth Brooke-Carr, writer was another ‘Retreat Down the Bay’ resident.
